More than 900 hectares of fruit and berry plantations were laid in Chechnya in 2018, which is more than three times the established plan. This was reported to journalists by the Republican Ministry of Agriculture.

“The subprogram “Development of the divisions of the agro-industrial complex” provides for laying of perennial fruit plantations – 300 hectares annually until 2020. In 2018, 990 hectares of fruit and berry plantations were laid in the region – 3.3 times more than the planned figure,” the ministry said.

The total area of ​​fruit and berry plantations in agricultural organizations and farms in the region in 2018 has exceeded 2.3 thousand hectares. “Including 784 hectares are of superintensive type gardens, 1,444 hectares of intensive, 114 hectares of traditional. In the region, fruit-bearing orchards occupy 604 hectares, young ones – 1,738 hectares. According to the Ministry of Agriculture of Chechnya, in the framework of the process of laying perennial fruit plantations in 2018, 678 jobs were created.
