Pear orchards of Karachay-Cherkessia


Sergei Chebotarev, Minister of the Russian Federation for Northern Caucasus Affairs, in the framework of his official working visit to Karachay-Cherkessia, together with the Head of the Republic Rashid Temrezov, assessed the progress in implementing the priority investment project of Orchards of Karachay-Cherkessia LLC for laying intensive orchards.

The head of the Minkavkaz of the Russian Federation, Sergey Chebotaryov, and the Head of Karachay-Cherkessia, Rashid Temrezov, examined the territory of intensive orchards established in the territory of the Adyge-Khablsky municipal district. To date, the area of ​​orchards in KCR, planted under apple trees, already exceeds 200 hectares.

At the same time, the Minister of the Russian Federation for the North Caucasus was also presented the first and only pear-type orchard in the country, established last year, and also presented the first harvest of pears. Today, the total area of ​​pear planting is three hectares. And the further implementation of the investment project involves the achievement of the established targets – 20 hectares of pear orchards. As a result, it will be the largest pear orchard established in modern Russia, and now Karachay-Cherkessia can rightly be called the pear capital of the country.

Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Gardens of Karachay-Cherkessia Aydin Shirinov told Sergei Chebotarev that all work is carried out using the most modern technologies and only using domestic seedlings, and super-intensive horticultural technologies provide high yields, high-quality products and reduced crop risks. Production volumes at reaching the design capacity of the investment project will be 10,300 tons of fruit production per year.

The implementation of this project allows not only to revive the gardening industry in Karachay-Cherkessia and to establish the production of competitive high-quality products demanded in the fruit market, but also provides local residents with jobs.

The next stage of the investment project involves the construction of a wholesale distribution center, designed not only to store the harvest, but also for year-round sales of products – fresh fruit. The presence in the region of such a wholesale distribution center will allow, which is important, to provide jobs for 250 people.

As part of the visit to the gardens, the head of the KChR Rashid Temrezov, Minister Sergey Chebotarev and the head of the Gardens of Karachay-Cherkessia LLC Aydin Shirinov also discussed promising opportunities for growing berries in the republic: strawberries, raspberries and blueberries, as the republic has all the resources for the development of this sought-after industry crop production.

The director of Karachaevo-Cherkessia Gardens LLC suggested that the head of Minkavkaz organize an exhibition of fruit and berry products for the regions of the North Caucasus Federal District at the site of the Ministry, and also hold a meeting with the participation of agronomists from all subjects of the North Caucasus, investors, representatives of the scientific community and industry unions to discuss the development of gardening .

At the end of the visit to the Adyga-Khablsky district, where intensive-type gardens were laid out, Sergey Viktorovich, Minister of the Russian Federation for the North Caucasus, expressed the opinion that the company has good prospects and therefore must receive support.

“We will create all the possibilities for your project to develop, because it is necessary for the whole country,” summed up the head of the Ministry of Social Affairs of the Russian Federation.
